For example, if you want a mellow, happy go lucky dog, don't select a Jack Russell terrier or even a working line Labrador Retriever. Please be honest about your lifestyle and how a dog will match your activity level and or your ability to manage said dog. If you are rescuing, consulting with someone who can make an educated guess to the breeds in the mix and evaluate the individual temperament of the puppy or dog you select. When you bring a dog into your home, you sign on for a 12-15 year commitment (hopefully). Selecting the right dog for your lifestyle and temperament is crucial to everyone's happiness.
